I’m incredibly anxious for Fall. Can you tell? It’s still a billion degrees in Georgia, but whatever. I’m still rocking my argyle and loving it.
I wanted to do something different – and you might not be able to tell from photos and video alone, but I’m putting a shimmer in my crease. Let me rewind just in case you thought I stuttered – I PUT A SHIMMER IN MY CREASE, YA’LL. That almost never happens! I’m such a die-hard fan of putting matte colors in my crease, but decided to take a step out of my comfort zone and try something new.
For those rolling your eyes like, “Uhhh.. why is that such a big deal, Asia?”, I’ll explain it. I have hooded eyelids – just a fancy term for eyes that have a little bit of extra skin on the lid – and the best way to carve out the shape of my eye is to use matte eyeshadow in the crease. Matte colors don’t reflect light – meaning my eye won’t look like a disco ball. Matte colors also tend to flatten the skin, so if you’ve got giant pores like me, matte is your best fried.
Shimmer, however, is kind of an evil twin. I’ve never met an eyeshadow I didn’t like, but every now and again, I have to give shimmer eyeshadows the side-eye. 😉
Hopefully I pulled this look off!
